Brumbies show off new silverware through Canberra Milk HQ
The Champions of the Super Rugby Australia competition, the ACT Brumbies, recently toured their new addition to the trophy cabinet through the Capitol Chilled Head Office in Griffith.
As proud sponsors of the team since 1996 and lovers of local sport, Capitol Chilled was excited to see the trophy back in Brumbies hands. Players Mack Hanson, Bayley Kuenzle, Caderyn Neville, and Reesjan Pasitoa were proud to parade the trophy with the Milk Crew who are die-hard fans of local sport.
Australia only five team comp was a chance for the team to flex their playing prowess who, at the start of the year, had looked poised to take the international title.
It was the first championship in 16 years for the Brumbies who last won the comp in 2004. Defeating a resilient Queensland Reds team at Canberra’s GIO Stadium, capacity for the game was increased to allow for the biggest turnout of the season.
Down 28 points to 16 at half time the Reds rallied to close the gap to just 5, setting up a nail-biting grand final finish. The Brumbies dug in their heels though, with a huge defensive effort to hold the Reds off.
Capitol Chilled is looking forward to supporting the team into 2021 when hopefully an expanded international competition will allow the Brumbies victories to flourish further.
