Canberra Milk undertakes recall of some Full Cream products in ACT and neighbouring NSW towns

04, November 2018 – Capitol Chilled Foods Australia (CCFA) is undertaking a recall of some Canberra Milk Full Cream fresh white milk products manufactured between Monday 22 October 2018 and Thursday 1 November 2018 at its Griffith dairy site in the Australian Capital Territory.

The recall of the Canberra Milk Full Cream 1L, 500ml and 300ml products is being undertaken as a precautionary measure, following routine internal testing which showed a faulty seal on some of the black caps. The broken parts of those faulty caps may be found in the milk and may have the potential to be a choking hazard, if ingested.

There have been no consumer complaints to date made regarding any of the products.

Importantly, CCFA has undertaken a thorough investigation including looking at the caps and seal on all retention samples for these batches as well as any products still within our control, and to date only very minimal products were found to have the faulty cap and seal.

The products impacted by this recall are:

The impacted Canberra Milk Full Cream 1L, 500ml and 300ml white milk products are distributed for sale within grocery, convenience and food service outlets within Australian Capital Territory and also in the neighbouring New South Wales towns of:

We believe this is an isolated incident impacting only the production of products made with this specific faulty black cap. This recall does not impact any other Canberra Milk or CCFA product including the Canberra Milk Full Cream 2L and 3L products with the same use by dates.

We encourage anyone who has consumed these products with the specific use by date outlined and who feels unwell to seek medical advice as required.

Anyone in possession of the impacted products should not consume them, but dispose of the product and call the Consumer Enquiries Centre on 1800 677 852 for a full refund.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes our consumers. We are working hard to understand what has happened and have temporarily switched to using a blue coloured cap for these other unaffected Canberra Milk Full cream 1L, 500ml and 300ml products  whilst we continue our investigations.
